Ugga

We’re not entirely sure what came to mind when Playtech chose to create a game with the title of Ugga Bugga. Perhaps the team there weren’t really sure themselves. However, what came of the slot, is a theme about tribes living in a jungle. Getting past its slightly offensive title, the game itself provides players with a selection of images upon its reels. And there are quite a few of these as well. In fact, the reels and rows take up most of the screen, presenting you with something quite extraordinary. Further to this, the graphics that are in the slot are also quite nice on the whole. Plus, with it being a Playtech slot game, it also incorporates some very appealing special features as well. All in all, it’s quite a nice option to play from a first impression stand point. Of course, we’ll need to get a bit of a closer look at everything that the slot contains. So, why don’t you join us for a walk into the jungle? Let’s find out exactly what the tribes have in store for us as players.

The slot itself has a fairly odd layout for you to play through. It seems as though there are either six reels and five rows, or two sets of three reels and five rows. As it stands, neither of these are true. There are actually 10 sets of reels, each with a single row on them. Therefore, the game contains 10 different win lines, because there’s a single line through each row. This is not a setup that you have the ability to change, so it will always be in play as such. However, you do have the chance to customise the value of a single wager. This is done by utilising the plus and minus buttons at either side of the current coin value on display. There, you can choose from a coin value between $0.01 and $5. You can then bring between one and five of these coins into play per win line. Therefore, a maximum overall wager amount of $250 per spin can be brought into play.

Graphically speaking, it’s a pretty nice game to play. The background presents a dark jungle scene, while the icons upon the reels are very thematic too. To start off with, there are two different tribal huts as icons. Then come three different colours of tribal drums – brown, red and black. You’ll also get to see some strange looking tribal masks. These are also available in three different colours, which are orange, red and black. The latter of these can provide a maximum return of 125 times your wager. There’s also a symbol of a tribesman with a shield and spear. A bowl of what could possibly be some native food comes next, with three different fillings. One is a pink food in an orange dish, then there’s a green liquid in a brown dish and finally some sticks in a blue bowl. The very last standard icon is another version of a tribe’s hut.

If you’re ever wandering through a jungle and you somehow get caught by a tribal group, don’t worry. Playtech has made sure to add a special feature to this online slot game in order to assist you with getting home safely. First of all, there is a wild icon upon the reels. This is present in the form of the totem-like statue. This one is able to substitute for any other icon on the reels in order to help you form a winning combination. If you manage to bring three of them into view on a winning line, you will receive a maximum return of 1,000 times your wager!

This is the only addition that the slot has to offer. There aren’t any bonus feature rounds to activate, no scatter symbols and certainly no freespins either. It’s a bit of a shame really, because it actually has a great theme behind it.

Ugga Bugga is not overly full of…well, anything really. It’s a very basic slot game with a wild icon as an addition. However, if you enjoy the simplicity of playing it, then we know of a few others that are quite similar. For example, there’s the Heart of Gold slot game from Novomatic. This one has 10 win lines for you to place bets on, although it has a more standard five reel, three row layout. Wild icons can appear on all of its reels though. Another slot that we’re able to recommend to you is Simply Wild from Stake Logic. This one also has 10 win lines for you to bet on, while providing two sets of reels. One has three reels and three rows, while the other has four reels and three rows. And finally, another game that we can suggest for you to play is Candy and Fruits from Merkur. There’s a five reel, three row layout available in this one, with wild icons appearing across all of its reels. And again, you won’t have any bonus features that you can trigger in it.
We’re still not really sure how to feel about this slot, mainly due to the title that it has. However, getting past that, it does have some entertaining reels that differ to the norm. And the inclusion of the wild symbol is quite nice too. It’s just that it seems to lack a little extra oomph for us.
